North Vancouver
Heritage Home
About
This North Vancouver project focused on the careful restoration and expansion of a historic heritage home, blending traditional character with modern functionality. The scope included a full heritage restoration, a kitchen bump-out addition, and basement lowering to create more usable living space while preserving the home’s original charm.
Respecting the architectural integrity of the home was central to the renovation. Original detailing, trim profiles, and heritage features were thoughtfully restored wherever possible, ensuring the character and craftsmanship of the home remained intact. At the same time, modern systems, structural upgrades, and improved insulation were integrated to bring the home up to current standards for comfort and efficiency.
A key feature of the project was the kitchen bump-out addition, designed to create a brighter, more spacious kitchen and gathering area. The new space blends seamlessly with the original structure while allowing for improved flow, better natural light, and a layout better suited to modern family living.
Lowering the basement significantly increased ceiling height, transforming what was once limited storage space into a functional lower level with flexible living areas.
